About us

The Hacked Off Campaign was established in 2011 in response to the phone-hacking revelations and campaigns for a free and accountable press for the public.

We work closely with victims
of press abuse.

We believe the press should be held accountable to standards which protect the public, strengthen democracy and safeguard freedom of expression.

Our mission is to create a safer environment by upholding standards not just for the public but also for journalists working in the industry.

Britain deserves a better press to fight corruption and uphold the strongest principles of journalism without abuse, intimidation, or unethical and inaccurate reporting.
