Public Benefit Organisations Ask For More Transparency About Government's Core Participant Status In Leveson InquiryFour public benefit organisations have today made an urgent application to the Leveson Inquiry regarding Government ministers' new status as 'core participants' in the Inquiry.Full Fact, English PEN, the Media Standards Trust and Index on Censorship argue that politically-appointed Special Advisers should not be allowed to see any confidential material that is now accessible by Ministers. They are also asking Lord Justice Leveson to publish the names of any senior civil servants who will now be allowed to see such confidential material. And they have asked for details of any requests to redact such material that are made by the Government.
