Fight back: Daily Mail claimed the Young Greens called on “students and young workers” to join “Paris-style riots”. The truth: The Mail’s own article reports a call to join walkouts and protests on 20 November, planned as an anti-war youth strike before the French unrest. It quotes no call for violence.

On 22 October 2026, the Daily Mail published a story headlined “Green youth group calls for ‘students and young workers’ to join Paris-style riots”.

The Mail’s own article does not support its headline. It reports that the Young Greens, the Green Party’s official youth wing, called on young people to join mass walkouts and protests on 20 November. It quotes nothing in which the group endorses rioting, looting or violence.

The 20 November date was planned as an anti-war youth strike before the French unrest began. The Stop the War Coalition lists the International Youth Strike Against War as a day of strikes, protests, assemblies and rallies.

This story reached up to 16.2 million people.
